    ATHIDI meaning ‘guest’, a delight Indian cuisine is established in November 2006 with a passion to serve the guests with utmost authenticity to its roots in an atmosphere where you could feel the excellence of its ambience.

    The cuisine is embedded with the indisputable mastery of Ravi Krishna who has extensive knowledge and expertise in Indian and Continental culinary coupled with ample experience at Star Hotels, his passion for food and his equal zeal to serve in Food Industry has motivated him to establish his own identity that is when ATHIDI was born.

    ATHIDI is situated at Parnell Village, one of the prime locations of Auckland where we find Charming colonial-style shops, elegant cafes and distinct restaurants; we made every effort to bring ATHIDI as close as possible to these ambience, besides retaining its ethnic identity. Its interiors are exquisitely decorated with Indian paintings and ethnic statuette depicting ethnic legacy; it has wonderful sunny veranda with excellent view to city and domain.

    ATHIDI is fully licensed B.Y.O (wine only) and has seating capacity of 40 guests inside, 40 guests outside (veranda) and 10 persons patio seating.

    We at ATHIDI use finest ingredients to prepare passionate special recipes to make mouth watering authentic and traditional dishes to suite your taste, style and occasion.

    Our brilliant staff will endeavour to give you the feel of a ‘guest’ with their charming smile and appearance and make sure that you would not move away from the fascinating moments of the occasion.

      We followed the sign to find Athidi down the alley but thought the restaurant would benefit from having a sign hanging from the beam above the steps to make it easier for customers to find it. We eat out at many restaurants and often at indian. This restaurant had excellent food. The flavours were delicious and the chicken very tender. Our waiter was rather formal and quietly spoken but very polilte and accommodating. We did have to get glasses from an adjoining table though. The only thing to make our dining experience better would have been to have side plates with our entrees as it is difficult to share entrees without making a mess.       It was my boyfriend's birthday and we had a group of 5 friends join us for dinner. We sat at the patio, ordered the banquet and brought our own wines. We had a fabulous time and the good was very yummy!   (February, 2010)

      Aartika and Ravi, thank you so much for creating the most wonderful Indian restaurant in Auckland. I have been here many times and the food is always amazing.       I went to Athidi last night, and had the best Indian meal experience I have ever had. The waitress was polite and friendly without being overly 'in our face'. She was wonderful and knew what she was doing, also was able to help our party as one of the members has some dietary restrictions. The chef was able to work with these restrictions and yet the curries were not lacking in anything! Awesome food. Awesome prices. We had a fantastic experience.   (Fiona - September, 2007)

    Ravi Krishna - RAVI KRISHNA a qualified professional culinary chef, is from southern part of India, was trained and worked at the major Five Star Hotels in Hyderabad (the capital of Andhra Pradesh, India) where he, at the young age of 24, established himself as one of the leading chefs of his generation. His passion and the confidence in culinary studies brought him to Auckland in 2002 with a goal to establish a restaurant of its class to symbolize ethnic legacy in authentic and traditional Indian dishes. His mastery was soon recognized; by the envious age of 26 he was appointed as a key chef at one of the quality restaurants in New Zealand. This doubled his confidence and inspired him to establish his identity sooner than predicted, that is when ATHIDI was born. ATHIDI has a menu that reflects his mastery in Indian and continental culinary. He keeps himself updated almost every day to research new recipes and ingredients to deliver the best to the guests. Ravi is scrupulously faithful to the origins of each recipe and renowned for the vibrancy of his food.
