    We invite you to experience our Tapas Menu – a blend of fresh ingredients and the finest New Zealand flavours, prepared with skill and care for you to enjoy. The Tapas Menu is designed to be a shared dining experience – we recommend that each diner chooses at least two dishes to share with the rest of the table. Small nibbles are also available to share in our Flavours Menu.

      We had moderate experience at Ferment on "the strip".

      With so many choices side by side on the strip, our decision was based purely on menu and cost. We were keen to try authentic NZ lamb. I wanted to try a simple lamb rump and surprisingly ‘Ferment’ was the only restaurant that had this on offer (or so it seemed).

      After trying to order said lamb rump, I was told that it was no longer available. Lamb rump shortage in NZ ? I opted instead for the pork fillet with cabbage and my girlfriend went for the rack of lamb with mash.

      Frankly the meals were disappointing - my pork fillet was delicious but sadly miniscule and the rack of lamb was the fatty and full of gristle.

      For two mains and a couple of drinks the bill came to $100 (NZD) - the waiter was top notch but the evening was marred by drunken karaoke versions of Meat Loaf's greatest hits being slaughtered next door.

      I'd recommend giving the much vaulted Strip a wide berth - their are much nicer venues scattered around the city.   (Something different - See my reviews (22) - April, 2009)
