The name Rumah Temasek comes from the Malay language, and translated to English means: House of Singapore, is dates back as far as 14th Century.
From those early beginnings, the history of Temasek has been one of constant change as Temasek moved from a small fishing village supporting a mix of Malay and Chinese settlers, and pirates into what is today a thriving sea port of some of the most exciting array of spices and food delights to be found anywhere in this region.
